Client: Foodland
Location: Hawai USA
Store Design: Interstore
Build: Schweitzer Project
Store Area: 2,750 m2
Opening: August 2016

On 31st August 2016, Foodland – the No.1, local grocery retailer of the island chain – opened a store with a completely new «grocerant» (supermarket meets foodhall) concept.
Over 1/3 of the 2’750m² sales area is dedicated to food-to-go and gastronomy. An arena of food stations with open kitchens leaves nothing to desire.

The primary goal was to create a supermarket, that is equally attractive

and welcoming for both Hawaiian customers and tourists.

Natural Hawaiian elements served as inspiration during the development of this special store concept.
In addition, a matching light and graphic concept was developed and the implementation on-site supervised. Accent lights create an inviting and exciting atmosphere and drag the customer further into the store.
